Our Mission Statement
Marriage Equality Now is a Seattle based grassroots organization, focused on educating, mobilizing, and advocating for marriage equality at the state and federal level for all couples.
Our goal is to increase visibility and empower the LBGTIQ and allied communities in the greater Seattle area, inspire activism, and advocate for equal marriage rights for all couples and families regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
We are committed to working with diverse communities and supporting other grassroots efforts in the pursuit of justice and fairness for all.
Our vision is full equality for all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, and Queer people.
Marriage Equality Now was started in March 2004. We regularly organize outreach and education events, as well as marches and protests to raise awareness of the issues affecting same-sex couples who cannot legally be married. We organized a very successful March and Rally for Marriage Equality last Saturday March 11th, 2006, and the year before on March 6th, 2005.
Membership is open to any individuals or organizational representatives who support marriage equality, anti-discrimination, and educating the public on these issues. Marriage Equality Now is a democratic organization: One member = one vote. If you are interested in participating, please come to our public meetings, or join our announcements mailing list.
